5 Great Off-Road Beasts
If you’re an outdoor person and you love driving and exploring places then you must need a perfect vehicle to get you around. Off-road driving can be fun especially for people who are so game to get down and dirty! In this article we’ll show you five of our picks for the best off-road vehicles!
1. Ram Power Wagon
With more mud on its tires, the Power Wagon returns as Ram’s top off-roader. The features are best for muddy spots. It has a locking front and rear differentials which can pull the truck through. It’s not that easy to get this stuck but if ever that happens, hidden behind the front bumper, there’s a Warn electric winch. There is also a newly developed high movement joint called Articulink, which is made to increase articulation in the three link-front suspension. This joint keeps the tires on the ground in rough terrain as it allows more flex in the suspension.
2. Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Hard Rock Edition
When you get this off the pavement, this spectacular vehicle will show you what it’s really made of! The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Hard Rock Edition is like a collection of hardcore off-road-duty parts that came together. Its components include a 4:1 low gear ratio, brake lock differentials, super tough Tock-transfer case, and an electronic front sway bar disconnect. Pretty impressive, huh? the new Wrangler also has a new Torx Tool kit that has all the tools needed to remove doors, roofs and bumper cap ends. It’s hard to deny that the Wrangler Rubicon has been the benchmark 4WD SUV for decades now.
3. Ford Raptor
Ford Raptor is known for its high speed when four-wheeling in the desert! This Raptor debuted in 2010 and it’s so fast that no production truck or SUV could still catch it even today. The all new Raptor is approximately 500 pounds lighter than before. The engineers have added an all-new, four-wheel-drive, torque-on-demand transfer case to manage the distribution between the front and rear wheels. Oh, and should we mention the 2017 all sports 3.0-inch FOX Racing Shox? Thanks to this technology, it provides great off-road performance and a very smooth ride on-road.
4. Toyota Land Cruiser
Toyota Land Cruiser will surely give you unforgettable adventures! Known as the flagship SUV of Toyata, Land Cruiser has grown in size and amenities. With a gargantuan 5.7-liter 381-hp V-8, it sure can go through the worst trails. This vehicle comes with crawl control like the off-road 4Runner. There’s a system that comes from Toyota’s Kinetic Dynamic suspension in which more suspension movement is allowed in slow-speed and off-road conditions, and at higher road speeds, it tightens up as it senses lean. Amazing, right?
5. Mercedes-Benz G500
This Mercedes-Benz G0-Class can also be called G-Wagen. It’s known for its boxy styling and body-on-frame construction. Did you know that G-class was actually developed as a military vehicle during 1970s and was only offered as a civilian vehicle in 1979? Its unique feature is the three fully locking differentials which are shared only with Jeep Wrangler and Ram Power Wagon. Pretty brilliant, isn’t it?
These off-road beasts will surely rock off-road terrains and will make you want to plan more trips every weekend! Just always be ready to get down and dirty, and enjoy the bumpy ride!
