American Car Companies We’d Love to See Resurrected
The automotive business is tough, which is why over the years, we’ve seen a lot of different car companies rise and fall. It may be due to mismanagement, bad sales numbers, or some other factors. Of course, just because they closed doesn’t mean they made terrible cars. In fact, some of the best and most beautiful vehicles we’ve seen were made by some of those companies that have fallen by the wayside.
Now, we list down some of those companies we’d love to see come back to life:
- International
Source: Wikipedia
The old International Harvester Company became Navistar, which to this day continues to produce some commercial vehicles. But we don’t really care about that. We want some good old International Scouts and trucks. A totally brand-new Scout could give the Jeep Wrangler a run for it’s money, don’t you think?
- Studebaker

There’s only one reason why we want to see Studebaker back: they make gorgeous cars! Just look at that! Beautiful, yes? Of course, they weren’t always sales champions, but again, just look at how handsome that is.
- Saturn
Source: Wikipedia
Saturn made (some, like the Sky pictured above) good-looking, economical, and inexpensive vehicles and paired them with a great dealership experience. It seemed like nothing could go wrong for the company, but everything did. The brand was neglected and became less fun and more boring. Along with the next entry in this list, Saturn was axed in 2009 as part of GM’s restructuring plan. Shame.
- Pontiac
Source: Wikipedia
Pontiac’s story is a lot like Saturn’s. What used to be a fun, vibrant brand increasingly became dull. Also like Saturn, it was put on the chopping block in 2009 as part of GM’s restructuring. We think it’s time to bring back Pontiac, and with it, the iconic Firebird!
- AMC
Source: Wikipedia
Sure, some part of AMC lives on with Chrysler, but it’s just not the same. We’d love to see a Javelin, an AMX, heck, even a Gremlin!
And there you go. Those are just some American car brands we’d love to see again. Can you think of any others? Share them with us in the comments!
