Forbidden Fruits: Cool Vehicles Not Sold in the US
We have probably the largest selection of vehicles anywhere in the world. There are a lot of cars made specifically for our market, and a vast majority of manufacturers sell their wares here. Of course, that doesn’t mean that we get all of the best vehicles the world has to offer. Some just never ever get to US soil.
Here are some cool vehicles that are currently not available in the US market:
- Ford Ranger
Source: CarMag
This is actually already the refreshed version of the Ranger that was first launched in 2011. It still looks good, its interior was upgraded, and it comes with a powerful yet economical diesel engine. In other words, it’s a pretty great truck. It’s a shame it’s not going to be sold here as we could really use a good small truck.
- Volkswagen Scirocco R

It’s just pretty! It’s got 280 horses and all-wheel drive, too! Is it really too much to ask VW to please sell this beauty here?
- Ford Everest
Source: Top Gear Philippines
No, the Everest is not a crossover. It’s based on the Ranger (the one we talked about earlier in the article), which means it’s a legit truck. Like its Ranger sibling, it looks good, it’s very capable, and it’s not going to be sold here. So sad. 🙁
- Holden HSV Gen-F GTS Maloo

This “Ute” has a supercharged 6.2-liter engine that produces 577 horsepower and 546 lb-ft of torque. No, we are not kidding. Yes, those numbers will scare some sports cars.
- Peugeot RCZ R

Peugeot has not sold a vehicle in the US market since 1991, but is looking at coming back sometime later in this decade. Let’s hope they come back as soon as possible, because this thing is hot!
And there you go. Those are just a few of the great vehicles that we sadly cannot buy here in the US. Can you think of any others? Tell us in the comments!
