Dirty Car Art: Why A Clean Car Is Overrated

Source: Bill Hensley
What we see: A filthy, grimy, grubby, mucky car that needs to be washed, cleaned, tidied, laundered until we can clearly see the white in our eyes and the pores on our faces when we look at its surface. Because really, if there’s one other thing that we abhor more than those parking tickets, it’s a dirty vehicle.
What an artist sees: A blank canvass.
And that, my friends, is what separates the average joes from the likes of Michaelangelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and Pablo Picasso. What seems like ordinary, everyday stuff to us could be a gateway for other people to release their geniuses and innate ability to create beauty out of something pedestrian. Sure, a dirty car is no sistine chapel ceiling, but still, a work of art is a work of art. Now let us marvel at these stunning dirty car art photos that would make you realize that a clean car is indeed overrated.
Let’s start with some “random” people:

If you told us ten years ago that there’s a chance we can see Bob Dylan’s face on a dirty car door, we’d tell you that you’re crazy. But alas, the times they are a-changin’.
How about some iconic works of art?

Impressed by the skill and the attention to detail? Don’t forget that it also requires hard work. These portraits can take 40 minutes up to 2 hours to finish.

Not a lot of people have the talent that these guys have, that’s for certain. Some have tried but gloriously failed (see photo below).
