Rate My Ride Wednesdays Roundup: ’85 BMW 528 vs ’58 Ford Fairlane
Our APW Rate My Ride Roundup this week is a head-to-head match up of two sedans from different decades. On one corner, we have Gayla Hudson’s fully restored 1958 Ford Fairlane Retrac. Gayla says this beautiful blue and white vintage car was built by her father and husband using junkyard scraps since the 70s. Pretty impressive, we must say! On the other side, we have Mike Latimer’s 1985 BMW 528. It has almost 300,000 miles on its original engine and transmission and it’s still in excellent condition. No wonder Mike uses it on his kayak adventure trips (he installed a roof rack). So who’s going to win?
The results are in and Gayla’s fantastic Ford Fairlane grabs the higher average rating of 8.9. Mile’s 528 had to settle for second place with an average score of 7.5.
