7 Symptoms Of Road Rage

Have you caught yourself constantly cursing while driving?  Chances are you may be experiencing one of the symptoms of road rage.

According to Washington state patrol, “Road rage is an assault with a motor vehicle or other dangerous weapon by the operator or passenger(s) of one motor vehicle on the operator or passenger(s) of another motor vehicle caused by an incident that occurred on a roadway.”

1. Violent thoughts towards other drivers

One of the most common and early signs of road rage is having violent thoughts toward other drivers. This may be harmless, but if these thoughts are put into action it could cause a commotion and distract other drivers.

2. Cursing and making angry gestures.

We know and understand that there are drivers that will really annoy the hell out of you, but cursing and making angry gestures will not solve anything. On the contrary, they will just make you angrier.

Similar to the third symptom, yelling and screaming will lead you nowhere though you might get a sore throat or lose your voice from it. If you think you do this frequently, it is safe to say that you should get some help to get it under control before it gets worse.

4. Trying to get back at other drivers.

One of the worst symptoms of road rage is when you start to get back at other drivers. This could be by cutting them off or suddenly breaking. At worst, this symptom can lead to car accidents that can eventually cost lives.

5. Flashing your lights excessively.

This symptom can be harmless compared to the other symptoms, but doing so is an indication that you are getting irritated and getting impatient. This could also annoy and disturb the other drivers.

6. Not obeying traffic safety rules.

The most important thing to remember as a driver is following traffic safety rules and remembering their importance, but the moment you start to disobey them, you’ll get yourself in a load of trouble.

7. Getting angry with other drivers every time you drive.

This is the most critical symptom of road rage. And, if you find yourself getting angry, irritated, yelling, cursing, and even chasing other drivers every time you’re on the road, it’s safe to say that you’re most likely suffering from road rage. Until you’re able to hold the steering wheel without having violent thoughts or cursing at someone, it’s best to find another alternative for driving yourself.
