Automotive ‘Easter Eggs’ That Make Cars More Awesome
Many car designers and engineers want to leave their own personal imprints on the vehicles that they design and make. Most of them do this by leaving ‘Easter Eggs,’ which are hidden features, messages, or jokes. Some of these ‘Easter Eggs’ are hidden in plain sight and are pretty obvious, while others are usually only seen by those with keen eyes.
Here are some of the awesome ‘Easter Eggs’ that we have seen in cars in recent years:
- Ford GT
The Ford GT wasn’t just an homage to the Ford GT40, it was also a tribute to Ford’s 100th Anniversary. Just look at those left headlights. See the 100?
- 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Say hello to the old Willys Jeep right smack in the middle of the Grand Cherokee’s headlight.
- 2013 Ford Mustang

This one may seem a bit tacky, but it sure will make showing off your Mustang that much better. The Mustang logo is projected onto the ground as soon as you unlock the doors. Fun!
- 2015 Chrysler 200

Taking its “Imported from Detroit” mantra to heart, Chrysler put the city’s skyline into the floor mats of the new 200. Cool!
- BMW Z4 (E85)

See that big ‘Z’ on the side of the car? No? Look at the diagonal line with the BMW logo in the middle. See it now? We thought so.
- Porsche Panamera

The Porsche Panamera’s key fob is shaped like the car itself. It’s not that pretty (because let’s face it, the Panamera is a bit awakwardly-shaped) but it is kinda cool.
And there you have it. These ‘Easter Eggs’ give these cars a little more character and a little more charm. Have you seen other interesting automotive ‘Easter Eggs?’ Tell us in the comments!
