Carson, CA –April 16, 2014 –AutoPartsWarehouse.com, one of the nation’s top online auto parts and accessories retailers, continues its advocacy in support of the brave men and women of the military with the launch of the Heroes Automobile Gallery program. The new program provides service members with a 20% discount* on auto parts and an opportunity to share pictures of their vehicle, and what it means to them, as well as a little about their military history. The gallery already has over 100vehicle photos and service member stories, painting a unique picture of the men and women who sacrifice so much for their country.

“We launched the heroes automobile gallery and discount as a way to say thank you to the men and women who have served our country. And, in just the few days since it has been up and running, it has taken on a life of its own– and across social media. A quick trip through this gallery of heroes, many of whom have suffered disabilities and tragedies, is a reminder of the sacrifices so many make,” said Shane Evangelist, CEO of AutoPartsWarehouse.com.

The Automobile Heroes Gallery offers active and veteran service members who post a picture of their vehicle a 20% discount on auto parts.* The gallery offers the opportunity to service men and women to share their vehicle pictures and stories with fellow service members and auto enthusiasts across social media.

“The gallery also tells a story of how important a service member’s vehicle can be — from the multi-generation service member restoring his red GT for his marine-in-training son, to the truck a disabled service member uses to get away, to the perfectly tricked out roadster that is one service member’s hobby. We are so proud to offer a forum for the auto enthusiasts in our military and to give back a little for their auto DIY projects,” continued Evangelist.

Automobile Heroes Gallery Highlights

Here are just a few of the stories from the gallery:

A service member who has served multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan:“My car is what frees my mind from everything. I love to just jump in my car and just drive…and enjoy family to the fullest. Any day above ground is a good day semper fi!”

An Iraq veteran about his GT: “(I am) currently 90% disabled from roadside-bomb attack (Back, Jaw, Shoulder, Brain injury), but still actively pursuing work. I’m a CERT volunteer in my community. My vehicle is important to me because I bought it 100% myself with the money I saved from Iraq. It may not be a flashy sports-car, but it’s fun to drive and a great daily driver for these New England roads & weather.”

An active duty gunner’s mate in the Coast Guard: “My car means everything when it comes to mind relaxing and mentally getting away.”

A veteran who is fixing up his vintage El Camino: I have been trying to restore this El Camino for the last 2 years and plan on giving it to my son when it is finished…I was injured in the army and lost partial use of my left hand and it takes me a bit longer to get things done. I am doing this to show my son what a muscle car was like back when I was in school.”

A former E4 senior airman: “I loved my job and the people I served with and really cherish the relationships that came from my time serving. My vehicle is important to me because it is my alone time and it is what gets me to where I need to be in order to further my hopes and aspirations.”

AutoPartsWarehouse.com has long had a special interest in helping the brave men and women serving with courage and distinction in our military, especially with their special needs when it comes to their vehicles. In 2012, AutoPartsWarehouse.com surprised returning serviceman Staff Sergeant Ben Sorensen by fixing his beloved 1987 Chevy Blazer just in time for his coming home from duty.

In 2013, the company launched a Veterans Day Heroes Salute program wherein a portion of sales was donated to Operation Homefront, a national nonprofit that provides emergency and other financial assistance to the families of service members and wounded veterans. AutoPartsWarehouse.com presented a check for $8,000 to Operation Homefront last December 2013.
